Hi Latoya, and welcome to the site.
Unfortunately, we don't have connections to any breeders, so I recommend you try contacting your closest kennel club to locate a Maltese breeder. If the club doesn't have anyone, they may be able to help you locate a breeder from one of their old show catalogs. You may also find an add for Maltese puppies in your local newspaper. Good luck with your search!

I think gradually broadening your dog's nighttime territory is a good way to handle the training. Give your bathroom idea a try. Once your dog is able to consistently make it through the night without accidents or getting into things, you can try widening the territory to a larger room like the kitchen and progress from there.
Good luck with the training. :)

A Coton de Tulear or a Havanese might be a couple of breeds to consider. They do have grooming needs beyond the average dog, but they have great personalities.
The only real consideration whether the new pet should be a male or female depends on whether you're willing to have a male dog neutered by six monhs old. This way you can avoid an unwanted litter.
Beyond that, just take your dog with you to meet any new dog you consider adopting to make sure their personalities are compatible.
Good luck with your search!
-- Contributed by: KellyI have a 6 month ...er spaniel female and i'm trying to get her used to sleeping outside of her kennel at night....do you suggest putting her in the bathroom with a babygate? Whenever I try to allow her to sleep in my room on her dog bed she constantly gets up and tries to wonder around the room...not sure of exactly what to do.
-- Contributed by: SonyaCan someone tell me or give me suggested small or medium breed would be a good companion to my 6 month old female ...er spaniel...also, should our new companion be male or female? I really love the Shih-tzu, maltese, bichon's but too expensive....oh and I would prefer it to be all white, or mostly white. thanks.

- Hi Joe,
The average Maltese is nine to ten inches tall at the shoulder, and should be slightly longer in back. These dogs usually weigh between six and ten pounds when they are full grown. They are comparable to a Yorkie, but slightly larger.
Thanks for your question. :)
