Hi Tanishia,

It sounds like that vet offered to spay your dog as a way to terminate the pregnancy and prevent future pregnancies. This is a very difficult decision, but I wish you the best whatever you ultimately decide.

Hi Kelly, Yes its so complicated. Im stressed abt this so much! There is not way i cld delay and go laters coz if i wait that m,eans my husband wil have to carry on and i stay back with my dog and child which i also am not very keen on doing. But ofcoz i cld stay if i want. Yes i dont want to out her on some shelter. I dont have a proper friend here who cld relaly take good care of the dog like I do. The last time i gave her to my friend htinking i was gonna leave soon, fluffy ended up getting preg and coming home with a skin infec. If i stayhere with the dog and its pups then its a sacrifice i would have to make coz i have ot go back ot my own country as family matters involve. So Kelly its tough! Also my husband called the main animal health clinic that duz all the travelling docs or the dog, they said that they can do a small operation and prevent fluffy form getting preg again. When i asked my husband wut they meant. to see they can right now remove the puppies. and then in a week fluffy will be healed and ok. and they would give somthing to stop the milk too. So i think this means that the pups would die?Being a dog loveer and very concerned abt animals right i doubt i cld make up my mind in doing somthing like that. FLuffy's pups i cant kill them now can i. ;( If i leave her with someone and go the whole year i wont be able to rest in peace that i know for sure. if she has her pups and then ater few weeks i seperate them from her it might break her heart too. geez, this is such a confusion. he he. I still cant make up my mind as to wut to do. I so wish she didnt get preg. Id relaly hate to lose her again.

Hi Tanishia,

This is an incredibly complicated situation, isn't it? Let me offer a couple of suggestions and you can explore them further. First, is it possible you could delay your own departure and follow your traveling partner after the pups have been weaned and placed in new homes? Second, do you have another friend or family member who would be willing to keep Fluffy for you until you return? I would just be leary about leaving your pet in a shelter or boarding kennel for that long, and I think leaving her with someone you trust would be better for both you and your dog.

As for the vaccinations and worming, what's done is done and hopefully the pups will come through just fine. All you can do on that account is wait and see because there is no way to reverse the situation.

I hope things work out for you in the end. Keep me posted on what you decide to do.

Hii Kelly :) Looks like my FLuffy girl is going ot give birth next month! According to the x-ray it shows that there are abt 4. but the vet said it cld be abt 4-6 pups. and that she cld give birth early next month. But now we had planned to take her with us to another country. so all the plans are now crashing. Without my permission only my friend has allowed the dog to mate. Its so unfair and now that we are supposed to leave the country also. So im so confused. We checked out some pounds. good ones. they cld keep both Dog and pups for an year til we return. then pups they can give away. But i dnt want to leave fluffy for 365 days! Its sad. Also today the doc squeezed her nipples and there was milk!! Im trying to find a lactating dog who cld give milk to the pups. do u think its fine? Maybe i cld hand the pups to that female dog and take fluffy and fly? i hate to serperate her pups from her either. SO no idea wut to do really. its mind boggling! also one more concern is that the earlier vet in aother clinic said she is very sure fluffy was not preg and allowed her to have rabies shot/distemper/parvo given.I learned its very bad. but the jabs were given two weeks back. also bcoz of her skin pro she took some worm treatment too. some capsules. i have stopped it now. I fear somthing would go wrong with the pups. Do u have some idea wut i shld do? Is it ok to just give fluffy away? wld it mentally cause pain to my dog to see me leave her? but i wil come back in one yrs time and take her with me. or i give her pups away immediately? or after a month? our flying date isnt set yet either. so i dnt knwo how long we have. time is limied. Im praying that God will show me the way. I am so upset that she is pregnant. :( I wish she was not then i cld have taken her with me. The reason i cant decide wel is that by august we have to fly. but if she get pups in the 2nd week of July, then how can i take her with me and fly to another country?
