Hi Joni,
Yes, you can show a neutered dog in the Veteran's class (7+ years old) at a specialty dog show, at least according to AKC rules.
Thanks for your question.

-- Contributed by: JoniHi Ken,
I believe your best bet for finding this information is to visit AKC.org. If you can't easily find the records there, they do have a contact email you can use to ask for more direction. Good luck with your search!
-- Contributed by: KellyI'm looking for BIS records for a breed of dog (the most wins by dog by breed) do you know were I can find this
-- Contributed by: Ken JohnsonHi. I would like to know if a minor would be able to enter the show. Not like a 9 year old child, but say a 16 year old. Is that allowable?
- Hi Deanna,
Yes, it is permissible for children to show dogs in regular conformation classes. That said, they should be taught basic ring procedures. This way, the entire class will go smoothly.
If your 16-year-old enjoys the experience, he/she may be interest to learn more about junior handling. Why don't you check out our article Interview: Lindsey Kuhn, Dog Show Junior Handler. It will give you a good idea of what is entailed. Your teenager will also benefit from our article How to Show Dogs in the Ring.
Thanks for a great question!

The quick answer to that is yes. She doesn't need to be an owner on the dog to show it. I've shown strictly at AKC dog shows, so those are the only rules I'm familiar with. Is your dog AKC registered? That's required if you want to enter your dog. You can only show in obedience if your dog has been spayed/neutered, but if your dog is still intact you can show in conformation classes.
You can contact one of the superintendants listed above to get information on upcoming shows. MB-F, Inc. is my personal favorite and serves a large cross section of the USA.
Thanks for your question, and I hope you all get a lot of enjoyment out of the experience!
