I’ve had dogs nearly all of my life. I became interested in showing and breeding through my older sister who has raised German Shepherds for most of ‘‘her’’ life. Although this wasn’t the breed for me, I did a lot of research and settled on Shih Tzus. I found a few breeders that were willing to mentor me, and began attending comformation training classes at Toledo Kennel Club to learn how to show. I had some success as an owner/handler, and eventually moved into showing for other people. That was 20 plus years ago, and although the demands of a large family necessarily curtailed showing dogs, my love for these amazing creatures has never diminished. These days, I put that energy into writing and editing for LoveToKnow Dogs.
